The choice of funeral songs provides a caring theme to any funeral. The choices are often personal to the deceased and bring great sentimental value to the service. Careful choice of songs, music, hymns etc. bring sensitivity to the memory of the individual.
We at Sussex Funeral Services always encourage our clients to choose music that is personal to their loved ones, or indeed to themselves.
The usual thing is for three pieces of music to be played during the service which normally lasts for thirty minutes.
That is, one piece for the entry of the coffin, usually a sombre piece to set the tone; a reflective piece during the service, usually played after the tributes, time used for personal reflection and maybe private prayer; and a departing piece which you may prefer to be a bit upbeat to lighten the mood, but is again personal to either your loved one or inspirational to you.
However depending on the service content will depend on the amount of music that can be played and listened to and for how long each piece can be played for.

Our Brighton and Hove funeral director at Sussex Funeral Services is now able to offer our clients a live vocalist who can sing most of the popular songs listed in the above tables. She is in fact, a Katherine Jenkins Tribute performer but can sing almost anything, given a couple of days to learn, if not already in her repertoire.
A live performer at a funeral can be a very moving experience and very personal, and we are pleased to say that since she works for Sussex Funeral Services, our price for this unique experience is very affordable.
